This session features leaders working on community food programs in northern or Indigenous communities where ecological, economic, cultural and ethical considerations require that the divide between farmed and foraged/fished/hunted foods be bridged. Presenters will discuss the opportunities and challenges they've faced as they introduce, revitalize or integrate two food strategies commonly thought to be at odds. Participants will learn about how integrating farming and foraged/fished/hunted food sources can serve to strengthen community food security/sovereignty.
