Cary Weingust has over twenty years of developing and overseeing strategic partnerships. He started his career in the agency world, working for Maclaren McCann and Cossette Communications, helping to support various agency clients by activating their sponsorships at various events and properties across Canada. Cary later joined the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) as the Senior Manager, Marketing, taking on a number of responsibilities including enhancing the Olympic brand in Canada and managing a number of the COC’s national and global partners including McDonald’s, Visa, RBC and Dairy Farmers of Canada. Cary was responsible for helping to launch and oversee the ‘Lucky Loonie’ with the Royal Canadian Mint in 2002, which saw the first circulation coin in Canada that included the Olympic rings.

As the Senior Director of Partnerships & Business Development at Special Olympics Canada, Cary oversees a portfolio of 24 National Partners, helping them bring their partnerships to life through program support and other activations, including campaigns and branding that showcase their support of Special Olympics in Canada. Cary is an avid sportsman, having attended Wichita State University on a tennis scholarship. He currently resides in Toronto, Ontario, happily married with two active boys.
