Kristine grew up on a dairy farm in
southwestern Ontario. After almost a decade away from farming, spent
studying, working and traveling, she returned to Grey County in 2009 and
started market gardening. Her degrees in Environmental Studies and Organic Food Chain
Management are coming in handy, but her skills as a farmer are rooted in
her parents. Alongside the market garden, Kristine has carried out several projects on public sector procurement of local foods, helped found a local, multi-stakeholder food cooperative (Eat Local Grey Bruce), presented workshops on market gardening and is raising 2 small children with her husband.
