As the government champions gender equality nationally and globally, let’s recognize that women buy, prepare and serve most of Canada’s food, a majority of new farmers are women and our food movement is largely female. How does a feminist lens change how we understand our food systems and how can those insights shape our vision of better food futures and the law and policy changes we need to get there ? Speakers from farming, food security, law and Indigenous food sovereignty backgrounds will share what gender analysis reveals in their sector.
