Working Groups to Activate Change
What bold actions can we take to create a deep and
lasting change? How will we work together to build a healthier, more
sustainable and just food system?
Following the
plenary, ten working groups will be convened around the topics below to explore key strategies that can come out
of this 10th Assembly. Each working
group will be led by a facilitator from the FSC Youth Caucus/student
movement/community sector, in partnership with an organization with expertise
in key issues to help set the stage.
Below is a proposed list of 10 working group topics:
- Building a Movement Towards a National School Food Program
- Fighting Poverty to Achieve Zero Hunger
- Labour and human rights
- Indigenous Food Sovereignty: Activists, Allies and unsettling food politics
- Organizing for Food Justice: Fighting Racism in the Food System
- Urban Innovation in Food
- Making the Case for Agro-ecology in the Next Federal Election
- Taking Action on Canada’s Healthy Eating Strateg
- Planning Eat Think Vote 2019, an Election Year
- Open space
Our goal for working group discussions is to envisage collectively where we want to go as a food movement and to identify clear priorities for activating change. Stay tuned for more details.
