Tour - Community Greenhouse in Centre-Sud Neighbourhood
Growing out of a citizen initiative, Notre Quartier Nourricier is a collective project that aims to support the development of an ecological, local and solidarity-based food system at the Centre-Sud neighbourhood level. With the help of young adults and volunteers, the greenhouse of Quartier nourricier produces microgreens, seedlings, mesclun salad and other delights and redistributes/sells them to the community, mainly through the Marché solidaire Frontenac (market). During this tour, Quartier nourricier will share their challenges and successes, and will review the connections between social inclusion, urban food production and produce sales.
This project is led by Corporation de développement communautaire Centre-Sud (CDC Centre-Sud), le Carrefour Alimentaire Centre-Sud, Sentier urbain and Société écocitoyenne de Montréal (SEM), and supported by Ville-Marie district and many other funders.
*The tour will take you through the Quartier nourricier, located in the Centre-Sud neighbourhood, but departure is from Concordia. Meet at Assembly registration, MB Atrium.
